Estimate capacity as: load power × lighting hours ÷ system voltage ÷ 0.85 (discharge efficiency) × 1.3 (rainy-day margin). Example: 80W load, 12 hours, 24V system → at least 52Ah battery bank.
In operation, quarterly checks on terminal oxidation, waterproof joints, and controller settings; insulate battery boxes in winter. If runtime drops sharply, check shading and battery state of health first.
